Our Backstory

NABUR stands for the ‘Neighborhood Assisted Bureau Reporting”. It is a digital product by Wick Communications, a family-owned media company actively publishing in 11 states. The project was initially funded in 2019 by the Google News Initiative. Currently, NABUR is only active in 5 communities across the country.

Our Goals

NABUR is meant to act as town square for people in a community to not only share local events and topics with each other, but as a platform to discuss current, overarching news stories of interest. With the help of moderators who are qualified journalist product managers, we aim to ensure the spread of information on NABUR is done in a friendly, safe, and reliable manner.

We aim to create a safe space that bring neighborhoods together together through trust, their unique values, and fellowship.

Next Steps

We are rolling out a new version in Summer 2023 to improve the user experience of NABUR for our existing audiences, with hopes of potentially expanding to other communities in the future.
